About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking a Home Health Occupational Therapist (OT) for a 13-week travel/contract position in Spokane, WA. This role is full-time and involves providing OT services to Home Health patients. The therapist will delegate responsibilities to assistants and aides, and will perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation according to occupational therapy standards and physician orders. The position requires evaluating patient function through testing, developing goal-specific treatment plans, and educating patients, families, and caregivers. The service territories include Spokane County and possibly lower Stevens County.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapist: 1-2 years - Required
  • Recent/Current Home Health OT experience: 1 year within the last 3 years - Required
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and Personal Auto Insurance
  • OT License for State applying or Compact if applicable - Required
  • BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross - Required

Nice To Haves

  • Home Care Home Base (HCHB) charting - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide OT services to Home Health patients
  • Delegate responsibility to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides
  • Perform assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures
  • Evaluate the patient’s function by performing formal/informal testing measures to determine the skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular status, developmental, social, and cognitive functions
  • Develop a goal specific treatment regime based on assessment data and the patient’s tolerance to carry-out the treatment plan as prescribed
  • Submits a written treatment regime to be included as part of the plan of treatment authorized by and coordinated with the physician
  • Updates plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status
  • Devises a schedule of treatment, which is frequency and duration specific to be discussed with patient/family/caregiver and coordinated with clinical support staff
  • Educates patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through forms of rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions

Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $2800 total weekly gross - $95/hour ($32/hour W-2 taxable , $38/hour non taxable stipend)
