About The Position

Join Corewell Health’s Nutrition Services team as a Lead Technician. The role helps ensure food and nutritional services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively to patients, employees, and visitors. The Tech Leader monitors service quality, makes decisions to resolve departmental concerns, and collaborates and communicates with team members to support continuity of service and a positive work environment. The position is based at Troy Hospital, is full-time, and has variable shifts and days. The listed hours of work are 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend worked.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience in food service, preferably in a health care setting or related field.
• CRT-Accredited Food Protection Manager, CFP certification through the ANSI National Accreditation Board; required within 90 days.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Hospitality or Nutrition.
• One year of relevant leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach and maintain correct sanitation and personal hygiene procedures in assigned areas, including compliance with the proper dress code.
• Complete assigned quality assurance monitors.
• Use reasonable judgment when interpreting hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Oversee end-of-day cash-outs and daily deposits.
• Make cash register program changes when applicable.
• Ensure meals are properly prepared and served.
• Ensure food items are stored properly and labeled and dated according to standards.
• Train new staff.
• Lead new-hire department orientation or perform other technical tasks within the designated area of responsibility.
