About The Position

Under direction, the Nutrition Services Assistant I performs food preparation, cooking, and serving duties at Vine Elementary School. The position works 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Duties include setting up the serving area, steam tables, ice trays, serving trays, food, and beverages; serving students and staff according to established procedures; assisting with short-order foods and tossing salads; and maintaining sanitary work and serving areas. The employee cleans steam tables and cleans and stores utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment, operates standard kitchen equipment, and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Any combination of training and experience sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed in the job description.
• Complete required pre-employment steps if recommended for employment: a Mantoux Tuberculin Test within 60 days of hire, District-approved drug screening, fingerprint clearance, and the listed certifications and trainings.
