About The Position

As a Nutrition Services Aide, you help prepare therapeutic and modified diets for patients and create meals for employees, visitors, and special functions. The role includes preparing and assembling patient meals according to menus, diet instructions, and service schedules, as well as assisting patients with menu completion. You also maintain food temperatures, handle tray-related tasks, and clean and sanitize assigned areas.

The position is with Encompass Health, a national inpatient rehabilitation and post-acute care provider. Requirements

• Possession of a food handler's permit if mandated by state or county regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Recent institutional cooking experience and special function cooking experience.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper temperatures for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret written recipes and follow written or verbal orders, requests, and instructions.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble and deliver late patient trays, supplements, nourishments, and special requests as needed.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food according to menus and specific diet instructions.
• Assemble patient trays to meet timetables.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize assigned areas.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
