About The Position
Prepares food according to guidelines, stocks supplies, provides service to customers, and performs tasks related to food preparation, sanitation, and service. The role includes preparing food for scheduled service, washing dishes and cookware, assembling and delivering patient trays, and performing cafeteria or coffee shop duties. The aide follows infection-control practices and applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards, and participates in improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food efficiently, safely, and on time according to department service times and schedules, using standardized recipes and proper techniques.
- Cover, label, date, and rotate food before storage to meet department and regulatory agency standards.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans according to established procedures and time frames.
- Follow proper infection-control practices, including handwashing, personal hygiene, and infection-control policies.
- Perform an assigned task on the trayline during patient-tray assembly.
- Deliver trays to patients and collect them after meal service.
- Deliver floor stock and/or nourishments to patients and nursing units.
- Perform cafeteria and/or coffee shop duties, which may include plating, portion control, and cashiering.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Participate in creating and implementing improvements.
