About The Position

The Nutrition Services Aide helps prepare therapeutic and modified diets for patients and prepares meals for employees, visitors, and special functions. The role supports patient well-being through food preparation and service, including assembling patient trays and responding to dietary instructions and requests. The position may require weekday or weekend work, evenings, or night shifts as needed. The posting lists rotating weekend hours of 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and weekday hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PRN positions are not eligible for benefits.

Requirements

• Possession of a food handler's permit if mandated by state or county regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets.
• Recent institutional cooking experience.
• Special function cooking experience.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate temperatures for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret written recipes and follow written or verbal orders, requests, and instructions.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble and deliver late patient trays, supplements, nourishments, and special requests as needed.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food according to menus and specific diet instructions.
• Assemble patient trays according to required timetables.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize assigned areas.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
