About The Position

Performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. Duties vary according to facility need and may include patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashiering, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with 8-hour shifts scheduled Sunday through Saturday and varying morning, afternoon, or evening start times. Holiday work is required. Additional pay applies to hours worked during certain evening and weekend time windows. The hourly pay range is $17.68–$22.99, depending on experience. The role is based at Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah.

Requirements

In Utah and Idaho, obtain a Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by the first day of work.
Be able to see and read information, labels, and monitors; identify equipment and supplies; and assess customer needs.
Communicate with customers and quickly and accurately understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
Have the manual dexterity to manipulate equipment precisely and accurately, including frequent use of computers, phones, and cable setup.
Be able to lift, transport, pull, and push equipment; bend and work on hands and knees; and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights, including heavy items.
Be able to stand for long periods.
Tolerate temperature extremes, including work at a grill or in a refrigerator, and exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

Deliver and present patient meal trays using the standard process.
Prepare food according to system standards and standard recipes, including assembling ingredients and preparing items such as salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit.
Follow standardized Nutrition Services practices, including dining experience procedures, meal delivery, and maintaining required stock levels.
Clean and sanitize surfaces and perform housekeeping tasks, including floor care and cleaning equipment such as ovens, fryers, and hoods.
Process accurate cash and credit transactions according to system standards and independently resolve basic customer service issues.
