About The Position

The Nutrition Attendant provides exceptional customer service to patients, family members, physicians, and nursing staff for a variety of meal-service needs while following Food and Nutrition Service Standards. Duties include explaining menus and meals, providing basic diet instructions and modifications, giving advance notice of meal selections, and documenting alternate food preferences promptly. Nutrition Attendants strive to exceed customer expectations. As needed, they facilitate training for new employees and assist with ongoing education for department initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in high-volume, direct customer interaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, hospital staff, fellow workers, and the department management team.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and use a tablet (iPad).
• High school diploma, GED, or certificate.
