About The Position

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for its inpatient rehabilitation hospital at 300 Market Street, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663. The hospital provides compassionate care for individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. This is a full-time day position scheduled 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., including weekday and weekend shifts. Compensation is $21.00–$25.59 per hour based on experience, plus shift differential. The Nursing Assistant supports patients with vital signs, personal care, meals, mobility, call lights, and transportation. New employees receive an extensive orientation program. Post-offer employment testing (POETs) is completed during onboarding before the first day of work.

Requirements

Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Hospital experience.
Certification as a nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who cannot feed themselves, and document oral intake, including supplements.
Safely turn and position immobile patients while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
Answer patient call lights and perform services that contribute to patients’ physical well-being.
Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
