About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital, the Nursing Assistant assists physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week day-shift position. The role includes patient care and support activities, with weekend and holiday work as scheduled. Saint Francis Hospital is a 617-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, and is part of Trinity Health Of New England and Trinity Health. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification required.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Significant previous healthcare-related experience is required unless qualifying through the stated education pathway: completion of a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program is preferred, or being in the process of earning a BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed; college transcript proof is required for the college pathway.

- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Collect and report patient information and data.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
- Transport patients.
- Collect specimens.
- Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
- Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
- As assigned, stay with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety.
