Nursing Assistant FT Day
About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital, the Nursing Assistant assists physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. The role supports patients with daily care and mobility, gathers and reports patient information, and assists with transport, specimens, supplies, and patient safety monitoring. This is a full-time, 36-hour position on a 12-hour day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Weekend and holiday work is scheduled. The pay range is $18.05–$25.60 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Saint Francis Hospital is a 617-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital that is part of Trinity Health Of New England.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proof of college coursework with a transcript, or significant nurse assistant/healthcare-related experience.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
Nice To Haves
- Graduation from a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program, or being in process of earning a bachelor's degree in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed.
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Collect and report patient information and data.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
- Transport patients.
- Collect specimens.
- Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
- Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
- When assigned, stay with at-risk patients to monitor their safety.
