About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital, the Orthopedic Tech Nursing Assistant assists physicians while providing treatment and support to patients with a variety of medical conditions. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proof of college coursework via transcript, or significant nursing assistant/healthcare-related experience.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program, or in process of earning a BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed.
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant with orthopedic experience in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Collect and report patient information and data.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
- Transport patients.
- Collect specimens.
- Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
- Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
- Stay with at-risk patients as assigned to monitor patient safety.
