About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its Clinical Evaluation Unit. This part-time position is 24 hours per week, working evening shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and supports patients’ safety and comfort under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director, possibly with guidance from an LPN. Duties vary by unit and department. The position works within its job scope to meet applicable Joint Commission and federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting requirements. The posting notes that there are currently no weekends, but this may change based on unit staffing needs. Holidays are listed in the posting. A permanent evening-shift differential applies on top of base wages. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $1,500.

Requirements

If not already certified as a Nursing Assistant, register as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within three months of employment.
Obtain BLS certification within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

Certified Nursing Assistant credential through the North Dakota Department of Health is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide personal hygiene care and assist patients with nutritional needs.
Provide comfort care and other assistance to patients.
Transfer patients appropriately and safely.
Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN.
Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients to promote healing.
Work within job scope to meet applicable regulatory and accrediting requirements.
