Nursing Assistant (NA) - IMC/ICU - Evenings
About The Position
Essentia Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its IMC/ICU Department at the 32nd Avenue Building. The position provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director, with possible guidance from an LPN. Duties vary by patient care unit and support patient safety, comfort, and Essentia Health’s mission and goals. The role works within its job scope to meet Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory and accrediting requirements. This is a 24-hour-per-week permanent evening position, scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with an every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The position is eligible for a permanent evening shift differential. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $1,500.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health is preferred; if not certified, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within three months of employment.
- BLS certification required within three months of hire.

Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene care and assist patients with nutritional needs.
- Provide comfort care and other assistance to patients.
- Transfer patients appropriately and safely.
- Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
- Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
- Work within job scope to meet Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory and accrediting requirements.
