About The Position

Seeking a Nursing Assistant for the IMC/ICU Department at Essentia Health’s 32nd Avenue Building. This position is 24 hours per week on permanent weekends, working day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. every weekend. The role provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director, possibly with guidance from an LPN. The work supports patient safety and comfort and contributes to Essentia Health’s mission and goals. Duties vary by patient care unit and department. The Nursing Assistant works within the role’s scope to meet applicable Joint Commission and other regulatory and accrediting requirements. This position is eligible for a straight-weekend differential in addition to base wages. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $1,500. The position has no call obligation and includes holiday work.

Requirements

If not certified as a Nursing Assistant, register as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within three months of employment.
Obtain BLS certification within three months of hire.
Provide direct care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director, possibly with guidance from an LPN.

Nice To Haves

Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide personal hygiene care and assist with patients’ nutritional needs.
Provide comfort care and other patient assistance.
Transfer patients appropriately and safely.
Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN.
Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients to promote healing.
Work within job scope to meet Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting requirements.
