About The Position

Seeking a Nursing Assistant for the IMC/ICU Department. The role provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director, possibly with guidance from an LPN. The work supports patient safety and comfort and contributes to Essentia Health’s mission and goals. Duties vary by patient care unit or department and are performed within the role’s scope to meet applicable regulatory and accrediting requirements, including those of The Joint Commission.

This position is 12 hours per week, with evening shifts Monday through Friday and no weekends. The listed shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Holiday work is indicated. The compensation range is $17.63–$26.45.

Requirements

• If not already certified as a Nursing Assistant, register as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within 3 months of employment.
• Obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care.
• Assist patients with nutritional needs.
• Provide comfort care and other assistance.
• Transfer patients appropriately and safely.
• Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
• Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients to promote healing.
• Work within job scope to meet the requirements of The Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
