About The Position

This is a patient care role in the emergency department of United Hospital. Nurse Techs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) to care for patients, acting as team members in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of an RN or provider. They perform basic skills according to department guidelines and communicate observations to members of the health care team. The position is based at Greenville Hospital in the Med Surg Care Unit 2SW. The posted schedule is part time, with variable days and 4 scheduled hours per week; the shift is nights.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC is required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of an RN or provider.
• Perform basic skills according to department guidelines.
• Communicate observations to members of the health care team.
• Take vital signs and check blood sugars.
• Provide bed baths and assist patients with ambulation.
• Provide wound care and perform catheterization.
• Act as a safety attendant for patients.
