About The Position

Nurse Technicians serve as team members in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is in the Med Surg Care Unit at Reed City Hospital, with 36 scheduled hours per week on the night shift, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and every third weekend. The posting describes a 22-bed medical-surgical unit and a 4-bed critical care unit, serving a diverse patient population and working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care as a member of the care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Take vital signs and check blood sugars.
• Provide bed baths and assist patients with ambulation.
• Provide wound care and catheterization.
• Act as a safety attendant for patients.
• Clean patient environments, work areas, and equipment.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions to appropriate department or unit personnel.
• Demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior.
• Advocate for the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff, and organizational data.
