Nurse Practitioner, Psych PMHNP - Pierce T-CAT
About The Position
As a senior member of the clinical team, the Psych Nurse Practitioner provides direct psychiatric care and medical treatment to members served. This is a part-time, 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, on-site position with flexible shift times between 8 am and 7 pm. Telecare's mission is to deliver excellent and effective behavioral health services that engage individuals in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams. Telecare's Community Alternatives Team (T-CAT) provides outreach services in Pierce County, including a Diversion Service that works with hospitals and mobile crisis teams to assess risk and provide support to individuals to avoid hospitalization, and a Transition Service that supports individuals transitioning from housing settings to outpatient services by providing interim prescribing support, connecting them with mental health services, housing, employment, education, and social settings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Science and an advanced degree in a healthcare science as required by the State Licensing program
- 1-2 years of prescribing experience in a program serving persons diagnosed with Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses
- Completion of an accredited Psych Nurse Practitioner program
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner in the State of practice
- Active DEA and Furnishing licenses
Responsibilities
- Provides direct psychiatric care and medical treatment to members served as a senior member of the clinical team.
- Assesses risk and provides support to individuals to safely avoid psychiatric hospitalization.
- Provides interim prescribing support to individuals transitioning to outpatient services.
- Connects individuals with outpatient mental health services, housing, employment, or education opportunities.
- Connects individuals with others in social settings and provides other supportive services to prevent return to an acute hospital setting.
