Requirements
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Nurse Practitioner Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in Arizona
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Arizona
- Physician Assistant Master’s degree and graduation from an accredited PA program
- Current NCCPA certification.
- Licensed to practice in the state of Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Assesses and examines patients.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic lab and radiology.
- Communicates and consults with physicians regarding patients.
- Plans and orders treatments.
- Dictates notes for office visits letters for patients.
- Identifies patients eligible for research trials in conjunction with MD and research staff.
- Evaluates patients with problems via phone nurse or chemotherapy nurse.
- Orders and interprets lab work for employees for safety monitoring.
- Provides continuity of care when a physician is out of the office.
- Interfaces with Medical Records, Front Desk, and Physicians and Nurses regarding patient’s charts, appointments, and patient treatment.
- Writes history, physical, and orders for hospital admission
- Also interfaces with area hospitals to report patient condition.
- Possesses effective communication skills that lend to a collaborative work environment.
