Requirements

  • Oncology experience preferred.
  • Nurse Practitioner Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in Arizona
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Arizona
  • Physician Assistant Master’s degree and graduation from an accredited PA program
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and examines patients.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic lab and radiology.
  • Communicates and consults with physicians regarding patients.
  • Plans and orders treatments.
  • Dictates notes for office visits letters for patients.
  • Identifies patients eligible for research trials in conjunction with MD and research staff.
  • Evaluates patients with problems via phone nurse or chemotherapy nurse.
  • Orders and interprets lab work for employees for safety monitoring.
  • Provides continuity of care when a physician is out of the office.
  • Interfaces with Medical Records, Front Desk, and Physicians and Nurses regarding patient’s charts, appointments, and patient treatment.
  • Writes history, physical, and orders for hospital admission
  • Also interfaces with area hospitals to report patient condition.
  • Possesses effective communication skills that lend to a collaborative work environment.
