About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Hospital Internal Medicine team. This role involves collaborating with physicians, associate providers, and nursing/support staff to manage adult patients with a wide variety of acute/episodic medical problems and minor injuries. The Hospitalist service handles medical screenings for behavioral health, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, admissions, inpatient consultations, developing patient care plans, and discharging patients. This is a regional role requiring availability to cover multiple locations including Bloomer, Osseo, Barron, and Menomonie, WI.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current State WI RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP, ANP, or ACNP.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the WI State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Current DEA, BLS, & ACLS Certifications required.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills following current practice standards.
  • Basic computer aptitude.
  • External candidates: attach 2-3 letters of reference.
  • Mayo Clinic employees: attach 3 most recent performance evaluations.

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • Strong cardiovascular knowledge base involving cardiovascular physiology, medications, and treatment modalities.
  • Additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians, other associate providers, and nursing/support staff.

  • Provide hospital medicine coverage including admissions, inpatient consultations, developing plans for patients' medical care, and discharging patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Perform medical screenings for behavioral health.
  • Be available to assist with coverage at other regional locations as needed (Bloomer, Osseo, Barron, and Menomonie, WI).
