About The Position

Hospital Internal Medicine (HIM) is one of the largest NP/PA practices at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Its hospitalists practice at the top of their scope and licensure within a collaborative care model, remain current with evidence-based medicine, and deliver comprehensive care to medically complex and diverse patients. NP/PAs participate in all aspects of care for hospitalized patients, including admissions, daily rounding, discharges, and communication and education for patients and nursing staff. HIM provides services in general internal medicine, geriatrics, telemetry, perioperative medicine, medical hematology and oncology, and telemedicine. Staffing models vary by service and support collaboration among physicians, NP/PAs, and Healthcare Support Specialists. NP/PAs provide 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities. Opportunities beyond clinical practice include leadership on quality, research, education, and personnel committees; collaboration on publications; and clinical education for students, residents, and HIM fellows. New HIM providers receive a comprehensive orientation covering the Mayo model of care, hospital medicine learning modules on current guidelines and standards of practice, EMR and dictation training, ECG interpretation, ACLS/BLS certification, and simulation-based learning through the HIM Simulation Boot Camp. The base salary ranges from $130,977.60 to $182,686.40, based on education and experience.
