About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to oversee the daily operations of a busy Surgical Services Department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring excellence in patient care, staff management, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and fiscal performance across multiple perioperative departments. The Nurse Manager will collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, anesthesia providers, hospital leadership, and clinical teams to maintain high-quality surgical services and outstanding patient outcomes. The departments overseen include the Operating Room (OR), Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), Anesthesia Services, and Sterile Processing Department (SPD).

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of recent acute care OR leadership experience within the last year in one of the following roles: Full-Time Charge Nurse, OR Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Manager.
  • Minimum three (3) years of RN Operating Room experience in an acute care setting.
  • Candidates must reside within approximately 45 miles of the facility.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • APRN candidates will also be considered.
  • Registered Nurse Diploma OR Associate Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations of Surgical Services.
  • Ensure efficient department workflow and patient throughput.
  • Monitor productivity and resource utilization.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and manage staffing schedules.
  • Participate in hiring decisions.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Provide employee coaching and development.
  • Manage corrective action processes as needed.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs), First Assistants (FAs), Surgical Schedulers, OR Aides, Anesthesia Staff, and Sterile Processing Technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with JCAHO standards.
  • Maintain adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with surgeons.
  • Collaborate with anesthesia providers.
  • Partner with hospital administration and department leaders.
  • Promote interdisciplinary communication and teamwork.
  • Manage surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Promote cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Support departmental fiscal responsibility.
  • Foster teamwork and communication.
  • Promote positive patient experiences.
  • Maintain service excellence standards.
