Nurse Assistant (CNA, PCT) - Special Care Telemetry
About The Position
The Nurse Aide assists patients with basic human needs and activities of daily living under the direction of an RN or LPN. The role also performs additional competencies to support coordination and collaboration of patient care. The Nurse Aide communicates accurately and clearly with patients, families, and employees, helps with other duties as needed to maintain a safe and clean environment, and maintains accurate medical records. The position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager. The role is based at 71 Haynes Street in the Special Care Telemetry unit. The stated shift is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with every other weekend. The Greater Manchester Region includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, Rockville General, a multispecialty provider group, and visiting nurse services.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification upon hire, or completion of classroom education on Nurse Aide competencies and written verification of clinical competencies within the new employee introductory orientation period; maintain clinical competency during employment in this role.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire or within the new employee introductory orientation period, with clinical competency maintained during employment.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program is preferred but not required.
