NP/PA Outpatient General Surgery Half-Time Job Share (0.5FTE) Opening in San Diego, CA
About The Position
Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their General Surgery Division. This is a 0.5 FTE half-time job share salaried position, working 2-3 days per week. The role is 100% outpatient at the SRS La Mesa clinic, supporting the General Surgery Division. The NP/PA will evaluate and manage patients with various general surgery diagnoses, provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care, surgical follow-up, and patient education. The position requires collaboration with board-certified general surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of full-time NP/PA experience in a general surgery setting required
- Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license required
- Current board certification in applicable specialty required
- Must be comfortable working independently
Nice To Haves
- Procedural experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Evaluates and manages patients with hernias, gallbladder disease, soft tissue masses (including cysts and lipomas), bariatric surgery conditions, and other common general surgery diagnoses
- Provides comprehensive pre- and post- operative care, surgical follow-up, and patient education
- Collaborates closely with board-certified general surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
