General Surgery NP/PA
About The Position
This locum tenens Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant position supports the general surgery and trauma surgery team in an inpatient setting in Richland, Washington. The role provides clinical coverage for primarily adult and pediatric trauma patients, with an average daily volume of 20 patients. The case mix includes trauma, pediatric surgery, and general surgery, and rounding is both inpatient and operative. Coverage begins January 4, 2027, and continues ongoing, with designated open Trauma II day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The stated open shifts are January 4–10 and January 18–24, 2027. Agency coverage includes travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance. Hospital privileges are not required. The facility uses Epic and has surgical team backup available.
Requirements
- Board certification is required.
- Must hold a Washington license or Universal License (IMLC).
- DEA registration is required.
- ACLS certification is required.
- ATLS certification is required.
- Must be comfortable with pediatric surgeries and trauma cases.
- Must be comfortable with pediatric consultations, HMP, and endoscopic appendectomy.
Responsibilities
- Join and support the trauma surgery team in inpatient and operative settings.
- Perform pediatric surgical consultations and assist in pediatric trauma cases.
- Cover designated Trauma II shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., providing comprehensive patient management.
- Participate in surgical procedures, including HMP and endoscopic appendectomy.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure high-quality, continuous patient care.
