NP/PA - General Surgery
About The Position
This locum tenens Physician Assistant position provides clinical-only inpatient general and trauma surgery coverage at a Level III Pediatric Trauma center in Richland, Washington. Coverage begins January 4, 2027, and is ongoing, with the listed dates covering January 4–10 and January 18–24, 2027. The schedule is two weeks per month, with 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. as needed; the specifically listed shifts are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The provider will care for adult and pediatric trauma patients, with an average daily volume of 20, and participate in both inpatient rounding and consultations. The case mix includes trauma, pediatric surgery, and general surgery. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency. Temporary privileges are unavailable, and credentialing follows the standard estimated timeline of 30–90 days.
Requirements
- Board certification is required.
- Must be licensed in Washington or hold a Universal License (IMLC).
- DEA registration is required.
- ACLS and ATLS certifications are required.
- Must be comfortable with pediatric trauma and surgery, with verification to perform pediatric surgeries.
- Must be comfortable consulting on pediatric cases, HMP, and endoscopic appendectomy.
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma surgery coverage for a Level III Pediatric Trauma center.
- Perform pediatric surgeries and consultations, including HMP and endoscopic appendectomy.
- Cover two weeks per month, working 12-hour shifts as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to manage inpatient trauma cases.
- Manage adult and pediatric trauma patients, including rounding.
