About The Position

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is hiring a Nighttime Team Member to provide fast, friendly, and efficient service and deliver consistent, quality products in a clean, inviting environment. Team Members work across multiple stations, serve customers, help close the shop, and support the team through the end of the day. The role is for evening and night shifts starting after 4 p.m. Pay is $13.75–$14.25 plus digital tips; Potbelly cannot guarantee tip earnings. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have a friendly, customer-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Be comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment.
• Be able to manage potential allergens, including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
• Be a team player.
• Be able to stand or walk for at least 3 hours or as needed.
• Be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

• Knife skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work at multiple stations, including load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front, as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Follow food, cleanliness, and safety health standards.
• Restock the food line, chips, and cooler.
• Efficiently prepare quality sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, and other finished products.
• Use the automatic slicer to prepare food items if 18 or older.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, the kitchen, and utensils, and take out trash.
• Operate the cash register and follow cash-handling and balancing procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
• Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone.
• Help close the shop and serve customers during evening and night shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
