About The Position

Potbelly is hiring Team Members for evening and night shifts starting after 4 p.m. Team Members help customers enjoy lunch again by providing fast, friendly, and efficient service and delivering quality, consistent products in a clean and inviting environment. The role includes working multiple shop stations, preparing and serving food, assisting customers, and helping close the shop while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and energetic.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Have a friendly, customer-first mindset and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Be comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment.
Be able to manage potential allergens, including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
Be a team player.
Be able to stand or walk for a minimum of 3 hours or as needed.
Be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

Knife skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Work multiple stations, including load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front, as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
Restock the food line, chips, and cooler.
Efficiently prepare quality finished products, including sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, and ice cream.
Use the automatic slicer to prep food items if 18 or older.
Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and utensils, and take out trash.
Operate the cash register, handle and balance cash, and follow cash-handling procedures.
Effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone.
Perform other duties as assigned.
