Night Supervisor
About The Position
The Night Supervisor, described in the posting as a Janitor Supervisor, oversees day-to-day cleaning operations and quality programs for specific accounts or groups of sites. The supervisor coordinates work assignments, sets priorities, directs subordinate employees, reviews completed work to evaluate performance, and identifies training needs. The role requires familiarity with safety requirements, cleaning equipment and chemicals, scheduling, training, Scope of Work, and Standard Operating Procedures. Duties and specialized training may vary depending on the service environment, including janitorial work, GMP spaces, or data centers. This is a full-time night-shift position at the Glaukos Corporation location in Aliso Viejo, California. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The posted pay range is $22.00–$23.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Ability to learn and understand the Scope of Work and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift or climb, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands or arms.
- Ability to handle a weight or force requirement of up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing subordinate employees’ work.
- Evaluate and verify employee performance by reviewing completed work assignments and techniques.
- Identify staff development and training needs and ensure the required training is obtained.
- Ensure proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose work-related correspondence.
- Perform other duties as defined by the supervisor.
