About The Position

The Production Shift Supervisor is based onsite at Mill Rock Packaging’s Salt Lake City facility and reports to the Plant Manager. The supervisor leads hourly production employees on the night shift, supports production goals, and helps ensure compliance with productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety requirements. The role implements company policies and procedures and recommends improvements to production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in production operations.
Experience managing and leading employees.
Knowledge of production processes and workflow management.
Ability to monitor production output and ensure quality standards.
Experience with process implementation and continuous improvement.
Strong understanding of safety practices, including HACCP.
Ability to analyze performance and generate reports.
Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in printing, packaging, or logistics.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, assign, and direct workflow for hourly production employees on the night shift.
Lead the crew to meet or exceed production goals while minimizing quality defects, and hold employees accountable as necessary.
Ensure employees follow best-run practices and quality standards.
Submit reports on performance and progress.
Monitor production output against specifications and monitor production processes, adjusting schedules as needed.
Identify efficiency issues and suggest improvements.
Work with managers to implement company policies and goals.
Notify Production Managers about issues that arise during the shift.
Notify the Maintenance Manager of equipment breakdowns.
Enforce safety and HACCP guidelines and uphold company standards.
Ensure safe equipment use and schedule regular maintenance.
Complete shift accident investigations within 24 hours, notify the Production Manager and Human Resources, and ensure corrective action is taken.
