About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for all functions of the front desk on the overnight shift at the hotel. This includes verifying the accuracy of guest accounts by balancing departmental income and verifying and recording all revenue produced by the hotel’s operation. The Night Auditor will work alongside and coordinate with Housekeeping and the Supervisor on Duty to ensure quality service and safety is provided during all overnight hours. The employee may be expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description. The role also includes maintaining a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers both verbally and in writing.
  • Respond to guest requests.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and strong computer skills.
  • Telephone etiquette skills required.
  • Maintains professionalism at all times, demonstrating courtesy and respect to guests and co-workers.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch.
  • Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push up to 25lbs.
  • Must have good near and far vision.
  • Must be able to hear, talk, smell.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Front Desk experience preferred.
  • Four-year degree in hospitality or other business related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and reconcile daily work and post any corrections if necessary.
  • Verify that all F&B outlets are closed and run reports to verify that there are no open checks.
  • Print necessary reports; close end of the day on all applicable computer systems.
  • Ensure that all rebates are properly logged.
  • Ensure the house hospitality checks post and correct.
  • Log house charges and close accounts.
  • Timely and appropriate communication with management and local authorities during an incident or emergency.
  • Represent hotel management during the overnight hours.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests.
