About The Position
The Minnesota Star Tribune is seeking talented, driven college juniors, seniors, and graduate students for a 10-week summer reporting internship at its headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. This internship offers the opportunity to cover breaking news and write enterprise stories, gaining invaluable experience in a major-market newsroom. Interns are expected to develop their own story ideas, work closely with editors and other staff, be proficient writers, and work regularly from the office.
Requirements
- Talented, driven college juniors, seniors and graduate students
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Flexibility and the ability to handle deadline pressure
- Proficient with web research tools
- Proficient with social media tools
- Proficient with InCopy or similar publishing software
- Valid driver's license
- Highly proficient writers
- Work regularly from the Star Tribune office
- Currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status

Responsibilities
- Develop their own story ideas
- Run hard at the assignments given
- Work closely with editors, photographers and other reporters to provide substantive news stories
