About The Position
Koons Tysons CDJR, part of Asbury Automotive Group, is seeking an experienced New Car Buyer to evaluate the market and maintain a steady flow of fresh vehicle inventory. The role focuses on sourcing vehicles through service-lane purchases, direct purchases, off-the-street purchases, rental fleets, and auctions. The buyer monitors customer preferences, lost sales, and dealership sales history, and conducts local market analyses to determine which vehicles to stock. The position also establishes and controls wholesaling activities and develops and maintains outside buying sources, including wholesalers and retailers. The candidate must be tech savvy and innovative, and prior experience buying used vehicles is required. Responsibilities
- Buy vehicles through the service lane, direct purchase, off-the-street purchases, rental fleets, and auctions.
- Maintain vehicle inventory.
- Monitor customer likes and dislikes, lost sales, and dealership sales history.
- Conduct local market analyses to determine which vehicles to stock.
- Establish and control wholesaling activities.
- Develop and maintain outside sources, including wholesalers and retailers, for buying units.
