About The Position

We are seeking a motivated, personable, and results-oriented Used Car Buyer to expand the dealership’s inventory through direct vehicle acquisitions. The role suits a self-starter who takes initiative, builds relationships with sellers, and actively pursues new opportunities rather than relying solely on incoming leads. The buyer assesses vehicles, identifies promising opportunities, and makes sound purchasing decisions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Several years of automotive sales experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Sales and trend forecasting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop a consistent pipeline of potential vehicle purchases.
• Contact sellers, qualify vehicles, and schedule inspections or appointments.
• Conduct face-to-face vehicle inspections and evaluate overall condition.
• Identify vehicles that fit the company’s inventory needs and buying criteria.
• Negotiate purchase prices and structure deals that meet company profitability targets.
• Complete vehicle purchases professionally and efficiently.
• Build relationships with repeat sellers, local vehicle owners, and referral sources.
