About The Position

The Network Provisioning Engineer II (Layer 2) provides in-depth support for Segra’s networks, IP networks, and Ethernet networks. The role requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a functional area of the organization. It is a hybrid position requiring at least three days in the office and allowing remote work two days each week.

Requirements

At least 4 years of networking engineering experience, or at least 4 years of Layer 2 provisioning experience related to E-Line and ELAN.
Prior experience with E-Line and ELAN provisioning, testing, and/or troubleshooting via CLI.
Strong knowledge of Cisco equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to use a computer keyboard and monitor for extended periods.
Detail-oriented, with good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Effective interpersonal skills to interact with customers, management, and team members.
Ability to prioritize and reprioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, especially when handling time-sensitive issues and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Provisioning experience with Ciena equipment using SAOS 6, 8, or 10.
Ability to demonstrate provisioning experience for Ring and Linear Services.
College degree in Engineering or a related field and 3–5 years of professional-level experience; or 6+ years of professional-level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related professional experience.
6+ years troubleshooting higher-level network hardware and provisioning.
6+ years in a network operations environment or related job.
Extensive understanding of either the Data or Transport disciplines in the Skill Matrix.
