About The Position
Provide locum tenens coverage for ongoing NICU needs due to department restructuring. This is a clinical-only inpatient position at a Level III pediatric facility in Tucson, Arizona. The NICU has 45 beds, an average daily volume of 19, and uses Epic. The patient population includes pediatric patients and neonates, and admissions are required. Coverage is ASAP through ongoing, with the shift schedule to be determined. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. Temporary privileges are available.
Requirements
- Board certified.
- Licensed in Arizona.
- BLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- NRP certification is required.
- Experience or ability to provide newborn and neonatal acute and chronic care.
- Ability to perform exchange transfusions and umbilical arterial and venous catheter placement.

Responsibilities
- Provide locum tenens coverage for ongoing NICU needs due to department restructuring.
- Manage acute and chronic neonatal conditions, including ventilation management.
- Perform exchange transfusions, umbilical venous and arterial catheter placement, and intubation.
- Provide care for pediatric patients requiring ventilation management (preferred).
- Work collaboratively within an all-RN department to manage a 45-bed NICU.
