About The Position

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking per diem Neonatologists for MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. The facility has a 60-bed Level 3 NICU with an average daily census of 42, provides 24/7 in-house coverage and full subspecialty support, cares for infants down to 22 weeks gestation, and operates an active neonatal transport team. Weekend 24-hour and 36-hour shifts are needed. The target start is February/March; no year is specified.

This is a W-2 per diem position. For per diem staff who live outside a commutable distance, Pediatrix covers travel expenses, including round-trip airfare and rental car or mileage, as well as lodging. Per diem team members are not eligible for PTO, company holidays, or other compensation. The role includes employee assistance and malpractice insurance with tail coverage.

Requirements

• Board certified.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC.

Responsibilities

• Provide neonatal care at MercyOne Medical Center’s Level 3 NICU.
• Participate in weekend 24-hour and 36-hour shifts.
• Care for infants, including those born as early as 22 weeks gestation.
