Neighborhoods Manager

City of New York•New York, NY
•$105,000 - $120,000

About The Position

The Campaign Finance Board is seeking a manager to lead its Neighborhoods Team, a sub-team within the Education team in the Public Affairs Division. The team builds relationships with community-based partners and delivers in-language voter education to communities with historically low voter turnout. Its priority neighborhoods include South Brooklyn, Northcentral Queens, the South Bronx, and East New York, and its work reaches voters across 13 languages. The team partners with community-based organizations, faith-based institutions, libraries, local groups, and other organizations to share election information and provide educational workshops on topics such as voting, voting rights, campaign finance, and the CFB’s Matching Funds Program. The Manager leads, coaches, and supports neighborhood-based Coordinators and Specialists, providing individualized supervision and professional development while establishing clear expectations and accountability. The role oversees engagement strategies in each priority geography and works with the Deputy Director to refine strategy, manage the budget, measure impact, and coordinate across the organization. The Manager also develops and manages relationships with coalitions, civic leaders, and institutions serving diverse immigrant populations, and sets the direction for curriculum, training, and staff development so educational content is accurate, accessible, and relevant to people who speak a language other than English. The position requires strong leadership, organization, communication, collaboration, and people-management skills. The Manager must be comfortable navigating ambiguity and exercising judgment with empathy, adaptability, self-awareness, and accountability. The role includes setting strategic plans for community engagement and education, overseeing program design and operations, building partnership systems, guiding accessible multilingual education, and improving internal workflows and procedures. Candidates who are passionate about inclusive voting and civic participation, and interested in how systemic oppression affects government systems, are encouraged to apply. The agency particularly encourages applications from people of color/the global majority, people who speak a language other than English, LGBTQ people, people with disabilities, and people with other marginalized identities.
