About The Position

This is an internal job posting. The Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician is responsible for performing and interpreting Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on aerospace components and assemblies in accordance with applicable customer, industry, and company specifications. The technician will independently conduct inspections, evaluate results, document findings, and ensure product compliance while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Current or previously certified Level II in FPI and UT in accordance with NAS410, SNT-TC-1A, or equivalent employer-based certification program.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of NDT inspection experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and process instructions.
  • Working knowledge of NDT standards, procedures, and quality system requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inspection reporting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Additional NDT certifications (MT, ET, RT, VT, etc.).
  • Experience with customer specifications from major aerospace OEMs.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) on aerospace components and hardware in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
  • Perform Level II Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections, including setup, calibration, testing, and evaluation of inspection results.
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection indications in accordance with acceptance and rejection criteria.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, records, certifications, and related documentation.
  • Verify equipment calibration and perform daily system performance checks.
  • Ensure compliance with NAS410, customer specifications, and company procedures.
  • Review work instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming material and initiate required documentation.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of Level I technicians and trainees.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of NDT equipment and work areas.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
