About The Position

This is an internal job posting for a Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician. The technician will be responsible for performing and interpreting Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on aerospace components and assemblies. This role requires independent inspection, evaluation of results, documentation of findings, and ensuring product compliance while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) certification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Experience performing and interpreting FPI and UT on aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of applicable customer, industry, and company specifications.
  • Ability to independently conduct inspections and evaluate results.
  • Proficiency in documenting findings and ensuring product compliance.
  • Familiarity with NAS410, customer specifications, and company procedures.
  • Ability to review work instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience training or mentoring Level I technicians and trainees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) on aerospace components and hardware in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
  • Perform Level II Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections, including setup, calibration, testing, and evaluation of inspection results.
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection indications in accordance with acceptance and rejection criteria.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, records, certifications, and related documentation.
  • Verify equipment calibration and perform daily system performance checks.
  • Ensure compliance with NAS410, customer specifications, and company procedures.
  • Review work instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming material and initiate required documentation.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of Level I technicians and trainees.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of NDT equipment and work areas.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
