About The Position

This role is responsible for increasing International Paper's (IP) profitability, market share, and competitive advantage, while enhancing the company's 'Think the Customer' reputation. The Project Manager will mobilize resources from both the customer and IP to focus on profitability, innovation, cost savings, design enhancement, quality systems, packaging equipment, and other areas that support the customer's success. The position involves interacting with various IP teams and customer teams to aid customer growth in different markets. A solid understanding of IP's products, business portfolio, go-to-market strategy, manufacturing strategy, and supply chain, particularly as they relate to corrugated products, is essential. The role requires advancing customer relationships, developing insight into organizational leadership, and achieving results through collaboration. The Project Manager will achieve results on challenging projects with aggressive timelines and cost savings goals while protecting and improving IP margins. This is a customer-facing role requiring travel to customer and IP facilities. The position involves communicating and reviewing customer resource expectations with IP supply locations, developing innovative service offerings, auditing IP facilities for customer visits, leading CVA activity, and assisting in the management of new technologies. The role actively supports US-based local teams on case erecting equipment performance, troubleshooting, optimal corrugated design development, and customer equipment issues, with familiarity with various packaging equipment used in customer locations. The position reports to the National Account Manager and requires timely project updates, meetings, and communication with the NAM and project teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in corrugated industry preferred
  • 3 years’ experience business and market knowledge of consumer products or industrial packaging preferred
  • BS degree or equivalent business experience
  • Thorough understanding of PSNA’s products, services and manufacturing capabilities and quality processes
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Quick turn-around ability; very responsive
  • Flexible team player with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly personable with ability to interact at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work directly with the customer without allowing themselves to work for the customer
  • Must be willing and able to work in an extremely fast paced environment
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Requires a combination of analytical, technical, and commercial skill
  • Understand how to lead without authority and how to influence to success
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office—excel, power point presentations

Responsibilities

  • Increase IP’s profitability, market share, competitive advantage and enhance our Think the Customer reputation.
  • Mobilize resources from both the customer and IP to focus on profitability, innovation, cost savings, design enhancement, quality systems, packaging equipment, and other areas that support the customer’s success.
  • Interact with a wide variety of International Paper teams and indirectly teams within the customer’s structure to aid the customer’s growth in many different markets.
  • Display skill set for advancing customer relationships.
  • Develop insight into organizational leadership and achieve results by collaboration and mobilization of appropriate resources.
  • Achieve results on challenging projects in an aggressive time frame with aggressive cost savings goals while protecting and improving IP margins.
  • Communicate and review customer resource expectations with IP supply locations.
  • Develop innovative service offering with the customer to set us apart from our competition.
  • Audit IP facilities to prepare for customer visits, audits, and expectations.
  • Lead CVA activity to drive profitability.
  • Assist in the management of new technologies to support both our volume growth and our knowledge growth.
  • Actively support all US based local teams on case erecting equipment performance and troubleshooting, optimal corrugated design development, trouble shoot customer equipment as needed, familiar with various packaging equipment used in customer locations.
  • Provide timely project updates, project meetings/calls, and communication and action items with NAM and project teams.
