About The Position

Hachette Book Group is seeking a National Account Manager responsible for selling children’s titles to key accounts such as Mass Retailers, Wholesale Clubs, and Readerlink. We are looking for a candidate who has a customer-centric mindset, is a strong communicator, and has a proven track record of building excellent working relationships with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally. The ideal candidate is proactive and has an eye for detail. Strong presentation skills, commercial acumen and sales analysis skills are also vital to this highly visible sales role. The position is based out of our NYC office on a hybrid schedule. Please note our current hybrid model is 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home. Please apply with a cover letter and resume.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of sales experience in an account management role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • children’s publishing experience preferred
  • experience with public speaking preferred
  • Power BI experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing sales growth on frontlist and backlist titles throughout the year
  • Preparing and presenting all titles to the accounts on a regular basis during seasonal previews, sales calls, and strategy meetings
  • Communicating with the wider sales team and Publishing regarding account activity and strategy and reorders
  • Representing the account at all internal meetings including Launch, Strategy, Sales conference, and sales and marketing meetings
  • Running weekly and monthly sales reports, including point of sale, sell-in recaps, market share updates, and seasonal promotions
