Nail Technician - Spa Oceana at The Don CeSar
About The Position
The Nail Technician performs nail care services at Spa Oceana at The Don CeSar and provides guests with the highest quality of customer service. The role includes performing nail treatments in accordance with service guidelines and current licensure, assessing contraindications, explaining products and services, and recommending suitable home-care products and additional spa treatments. The technician is responsible for maintaining clean and properly set work areas, disinfecting equipment, keeping client cards and treatment notes when appropriate, completing side work, and following spa policies and brand standards. The position requires working the assigned schedule, arriving and departing on time, attending meetings and professional training, and reporting incidents or accidents to management. Other duties may be assigned. The position requires availability when the facility is open, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Work involves exposure to fumes, odors, dust, and other listed environmental conditions. Physical activities include standing and walking, using hands and fingers repetitively, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting. The employee may frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Requirements
- Valid state license in nail services or other credentials required by the state.
- Previous nail technician experience.
- Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
- Ability to build rapport with guests and explain various treatments and services.
- Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently, stay organized, and handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
- Strong team-player skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational approach.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort recommending products.
- Availability when the facility is open, potentially including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Maintain the Arch Amenities Group guest experience and follow its mission, values, standards, expectations, brand standards, and policies.
- Perform nail services according to established service guidelines and guest expectations, including nail grooming, polish application, massage, and exfoliation.
- Perform treatments on the spa services menu in accordance with current licensure.
- Assess guest contraindications that may prevent a service from taking place.
- Meet guests' needs throughout each service and use universal precautions.
- Clean and disinfect equipment daily.
- Maintain knowledge of nail care for hands and feet and of the spa services offered.
- Understand product ingredients and explain their benefits to guests.
- Answer guest questions professionally and knowledgeably; recommend products for home use and suggest other beneficial spa treatments.
- Begin and end treatments on time and work the assigned schedule, arriving and departing on time.
- Keep work areas clean and set according to procedures.
- Inform the Spa Director or other management personnel about product needs.
- Create and maintain client cards and treatment notes when appropriate.
- Complete assigned side work and attend scheduled meetings and professional training.
- Report incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
