About The Position

The Hair Stylist at Spa Oceana provides hair services while delivering an excellent guest experience and demonstrating technical proficiency. Spa Oceana is an 11,000-square-foot luxury spa at The Don CeSar Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida, with 16 treatment rooms, couples' suites, and a rooftop terrace. The spa serves local clients and bridal parties and offers a broad range of services. The stylist performs services from the spa menu in accordance with established guidelines and current certifications. This includes hair cutting, styling and updos, chemical services, shampoo treatments, and scalp massage. The stylist maintains product and service knowledge, recommends appropriate products and treatments, answers guest questions, and observes precautions and contraindications. The role also includes keeping the work area and equipment clean, maintaining client notes when appropriate, completing side work, attending meetings and professional training, and helping prepare the facility for events. The position requires varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work involves standing for long periods and may include lifting or moving equipment and products, with exposure to noise, vibrations, mist, fumes, odors, chemicals, and burns. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
Ability to explain various treatments and services to guests.

Responsibilities

Provide hair services that meet established service guidelines and guest expectations.
Maintain the Arch Amenities Group guest experience and adhere to facility and company policies, standards, values, and brand standards.
Use universal precautions and assess guest contraindications that may prevent a service.
Maintain knowledge of products and spa services; explain product ingredients and benefits, recommend products for home use, and suggest other beneficial spa treatments.
Perform services on the menu based on current certifications.
Answer guest questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
Perform precision, razor, clipper, and thinning-shear haircuts.
Style hair using hot rollers, curling irons, Velcro rollers, and other techniques; create updos using extensions, braiding, and plaiting.
Perform chemical services, including coloring, perms, and straightening.
Perform shampoo treatments and scalp massage techniques.
Begin and end appointments on time and work the assigned schedule.
Keep work areas clean and set up according to procedures; clean and disinfect equipment daily.
Inform the Spa Director of product needs.
Create and maintain client cards with treatment notes when appropriate.
Complete assigned side work and attend scheduled meetings and professional training.
Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products and with preparing the facility for special events.
Report incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
