About The Position
The Hair Stylist at Spa Oceana in The Don CeSar provides hair services while delivering an excellent guest experience and demonstrating technical proficiency. Spa Oceana is an 11,000-square-foot luxury spa in St. Pete Beach, Florida, with 16 treatment rooms, couples' suites, and a rooftop terrace. It serves local clients and bridal clients in a full-service spa environment. The stylist performs services according to established guidelines and current certifications, helps guests understand services and products, and maintains professional, clean, and well-prepared work areas. The position is non-exempt and reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
- Ability to explain treatments and services to guests.
- Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
- Efficient, well organized, and able to handle multiple duties simultaneously.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Strong team player.
- Comfort with making product recommendations.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Ability to perform job activities including balancing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, tactile tasks, repetitive motions, seeing, hearing, talking, and visual acuity.
- Ability to operate scissors, blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, color products, brushes, combs, curlers, clips, foils, and bleach.
- Ability to work in conditions involving noise, vibrations, mist, fumes, odors, chemicals, and burns.

Responsibilities
- Deliver the Arch Amenities Group Experience in accordance with its mission, values, standards, expectations, and brand standards.
- Follow facility and Arch Amenities Group policies.
- Perform hair services according to established service guidelines and guest expectations.
- Use universal precautions and assess guest contraindications before providing services.
- Maintain strong knowledge of products and all currently offered spa services; recommend appropriate products for home use and other beneficial spa treatments.
- Perform menu treatments within current certifications and explain product ingredients and benefits while answering guest questions professionally.
- Provide precision, razor, clipper, and thinning-shear haircuts; style hair using hot rollers, curling irons, Velcro rollers, and other techniques; create updos using extensions, braiding, and plaiting; perform color, perm, and straightening services; and provide shampoo treatments and scalp massages.
- Begin and end appointments on time and work the assigned schedule.
- Keep work areas clean and arranged according to procedures, and clean and disinfect equipment daily.
- Inform the Spa Director of product needs.
- Create and maintain client cards with treatment notes when appropriate.
- Complete assigned side work and attend scheduled meetings.
- Attend and plan professional training.
- Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products, including preparing for special events.
- Report incidents and accidents to a member of the management team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
