About The Position

Bach To Rock is seeking a part-time Music Teacher to provide private and semi-private music and performance lessons to students of all ages. Teachers use Bach to Rock curriculum and cover-song arrangements to provide an inspiring, well-balanced music education, teaching theory and technique through music students know and enjoy. The role helps students develop as musicians who can perform, record in the studio, and compose original music. The teacher creates a fun, encouraging, and focused learning environment; assesses students’ readiness for bands or ensembles; assists with school events; and may repair equipment as needed and able. The position may also help create programs such as choir ensembles and smaller group choral performances. The role offers a flexible part-time schedule in a music-focused environment. The school handles marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects so teachers can focus on instruction. Hourly pay is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability.

Requirements

Demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and communicate those concepts effectively to students.
Have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument.
Have effective time-management and organizational skills to keep students on task during lessons.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities.
Have experience performing, either solo or in a group.
Have experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians.
Be able to interact effectively with children and adults.
Be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities
