About The Position

Music Kids is seeking enthusiastic educators to teach beginning level violin, piano, and guitar to young students (ages 3 and up) in small group classes and some individual lessons at local partner schools. The program aims to enrich student development through instrumental music education. We are looking for individuals with a strong interest in teaching young children and a passion for music education within the school environment. While the ability to teach multiple instruments is preferred, resources and assistance are available for learning beginner-level teaching of violin, piano, and guitar. There is a particular need for violin teachers, but applications for piano and guitar are also welcome. The role involves teaching, student performances, parent communication, lesson planning, scheduling, progress reporting, virtual learning support, promoting the program, and participating in professional development.

Requirements

Ability to commit through one academic year (mid-August to mid-June)
Scheduling availability on several weekdays during after-school hours (2pm-6pm)
Additional availability for office hours during one or more weekdays
Reside in and be legally qualified to work in the United States
Submit to customary background checks
Experience with leadership or project management
Ability to work closely with an office staff in administrative and professional development functions
Reliable, organized, timely, and possess friendly verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working daily in email, internal instant messaging, company databases, digital timekeeping, and other online resources to manage activities
Owns a car to commute to/from partner schools (optional in some cases, but strongly preferred)

Nice To Haves

Ability to teach violin and guitar/piano is strongly preferred
Experience with leadership or project management
Experience with teaching music classes OR a traditional classroom setting (university program, private, or organizational)
