About The Position

Guitar Center is hiring a Music Teacher to teach music lessons according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The teacher helps students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The role also focuses on increasing and retaining student enrollment and providing an excellent customer experience. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, supports customer service as needed, and builds long-term student relationships. They communicate frequently with students and families about student progress and goals, recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child as part of the teaching partnership. Additional duties may be assigned. The posted pay range is $15.92–$19.42 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $23.82 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
Communicate student progress and share students’ and/or parents’ goals and progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
