About The Position

Chara Christian Dance Academy is hiring a part-time piano and guitar instructor to take over lessons for existing students, including advanced piano students. The position is based primarily at the Friendswood studio, with some lessons at the Pearland location. The instructor will work with Music Director Cindy Fletcher and a collaborative team committed to positively impacting children and families through the performing arts.

The instructor will teach piano through an advanced level and plan guitar lessons suited to each student's abilities and goals. They will provide clear practice guidance, communicate progress to families, and foster student confidence, enjoyment, and continued participation. Weekday evening availability is needed between 4:30 and 8:00 p.m. The current schedule includes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening lessons, plus one Saturday class. Exact times and adjustments will be coordinated with students, families, and the instructor. Weekly hours depend on the assigned lesson schedule. Hourly pay starts at $30.

Requirements

• Prior experience teaching music lessons.
• Demonstrated ability to teach advanced piano, not just perform at an advanced level.
• Proficiency in guitar and the ability to teach guitar lessons.
• A patient, encouraging approach to working with children.
• Dependability, strong communication, and effective lesson planning.
• Weekday evening availability between 4:30 and 8:00 p.m., with the current schedule including Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and one Saturday class.

Nice To Haves

• A completed or in-progress music degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach existing piano and guitar students and support continuity in their musical development.
